Known
locally as Heights Chapel, the Church of St. Thomas the Apostle, at Heights,
is a notable landmark standing on the hills high above Delph and the surrounding
countryside. The church overlooks the old weaving hamlet of Grange and was
written of, in 1912, in Songs of a Moorland Parish, by the local writer
and poet Ammon Wrigley. This montage/panorama covers approximately 150º
and the original digital photographs were taken in February, 2003 on a bitterly
cold but sunny day. The photographs were assembled in the computer, given
a drop shadow, flattened and then a further drop shadow applied to the whole. |
