Uppermill - Whit Friday 2003 The central part of this image is a panorama/montage of the main street in Uppermill, on Friday 13th June 2003, as the crowds wait on the pavements for the Saddlworth Churches' Whit Walks to begin. Looking down the road to the left is the centre of Uppermill and, to the right, is the road going out in the direction of Diggle and Standedge. The montage of individual photographs, assembled around the panorama, shows an assortment of walkers, bands and bystanders as they appeared in front of the camera thoughout that morning. All the photographs were taken from the same spot and, together, cover almost 180º.
