Private Joseph Jameson, was the son of William Herbert Jameson and Emma (nee Swann), born in 1896.

Joseph and his father were both born in Manchester whilst his mother came from Sheffield.

On the 1911 census Joseph was living at 104 Old Road, Failsworth with his parents, four sisters and two brothers. William Herbert Jameson was an 'Iron turner'

was killed on the 28th May, 1918. With no known grave he is remembered on the Soissons Memorial, on the River Aisne.
