'What passing-bells for these who die as cattle?
- Only the monstrous anger of the guns.'

CONSCIENTIOUS OBJECTION IN WW1

Joseph Whitehead

He has an entry on the Pearce List HERE.
The Pearce List of over 17500 WW1 Conscientious Objectors can be found on the Imperial War Museum's website HERE.

Joseph Whitehead is listed because he is included in the 1915 register of members of the No-Conscription Fellowship.
He was 42 years old at the 1911 census and would have been too old when conscription started in March 1916 but would have been eligible when the age went up to 50 in 1918.
