Clerk employed at Victoria Station, Manchester, lives in Oldham.

He said he was a member of the Plymouth Brethren and included many Bible references in his claim. He strongly objected to combatant service but had no objection to non-combatant service.
He would never kill a man.

Insufficient information to find a certain match in 1911 census or 1939 register.

1911 census :
However, there is an Ernest Pollard who is a clerk recorded but working with the Co-operative Society.
It could be the same man if he changed place of employment between 1911 and 1916.
