Newspaper obituary:

"Private Norman Jackson, Manchester Regiment, of 568, Huddersfield-road, Waterhead, has died of wounds received in action. He was 19 years of age, and before enlisting about six months ago was a chauffeur for Dr. Oliver, of Waterhead. He had been in France about twelve weeks. His parents received last week-end the news that he was severely wounded, and they could see him if they wished. The father and mother went to France, sailing from Southampton to Havre. They arrived on Saturday at Rouen Hospital, only to find that their son had died the day before, and had been interred at the English cemetery. The distressed parents were allowed to see the grave of their son, and they speak of the care taken in the burials. Twelve months ago Corporal Snow, a nephew of Mr. and Mrs. Jackson, who lived with them, was killed. "

He is buried in the St. Sever Cemetery, Rouen.
