Newspaper obituary:

"Private Joseph Walters, who was a comrade of Driesen, and enlisted with him in September 14th, was unofficially reported killed in action. Walters was in the King's Own Royal Lancaster Regiment and had been in the fighting some time. He was once invalided to hospital with rheumatism, but recovered and went back, and was afterwards wounded with shrapnel in the thigh, being operated upon in hospital at Birmingham. He went to the fighting line again at Easter. Walters was 28 years of age and, like Driesen, was a stripper and grinder at the Beal Mills. His parents reside at 17, Salts Street, Shaw, and he has two brothers with the colours, James being in training with the Manchester Regiment and George in the Navy."
