"Private John Henry Bacon, East Lancashire Regiment, of 7 Rastrick Street, Oldham, was killed on July 1st. He was 39 years of age, and leaves a widow and ten children. He enlisted in March 1915, and had been in France twelve months. Prior to enlisting he was a gas stove fitter for the Oldham Corporation. "
