Newspaper obituary:

"Corporal Kenneth McGregor Cameron, Royal Scots, of 84 Wrigley Head, Failsworth, was killed in action in France last week. He enlisted in August 1914, and went out to France in November 1915. He was 29 years of age and leaves a widow and two children.

He was, before enlisting, employed at the Co-operative Wholesale Society as a clerk in the insurance department. He was attached to the Highland Light Infantry and his brother, who was in the same company, has sent word home how he met his death. After they had captured a German trench Kenneth looked over to see where they were, when he was shot through the head. He died after about five minutes. He was greatly respected by the men in his section. His last work before going out to the attack was to bury his fellow-corporal in the 4th platoon who had been killed by a shell. "
