Newspaper obituary:

"Another member of the Oldham police force has been killed in action, viz. P.C. Thomas Jackson, of the Werneth Division. He was a bombardier in the R.F.A., and was killed during the recent advance. Jackson was a married man 28 years of age, and his widow and two children live at 62 Franklin Street, Oldham. He came from Altrincham and joined the Oldham Police Force on February 4th 1910, and enlisted in May 1915. A letter has been received by Mrs Jackson from an officer of the Brigade, in which it is stated that Jackson had been mentioned for distinguished conduct in the field. He is the fourth Oldham policeman to be killed. "
