7th Battalion. King's Own (Royal Lancaster Regiment)

Newspaper obituary:

"The parents of Private Osmond Taylor, Manchester Regiment, of 79 Rochdale Road, Oldham, have been officially informed of his death from wounds on July 8th. He enlisted in February 1915, was 21 years of age, and before enlisting was a piecer at the Gorse Mill, Hollinwood."

Note: The medal index card, below, is the only one that matches the particulars in the newspaper report, except for the Regiment. It also matches the only CWGC entry. There is a possibility that Private Taylor was transferred to the Mancheter Regiment or there was an error in the reporting.
