Wounded December 1916 - hospitalised in Dublin until March 1917.
2nd April 1917, on board H.M.T. 'Cameronia' en route for Mesopotamia, ship torpedoed and sank.
William survived and arrived in Baghdad 28th August 1917.
Demobilised 13th April 1919
