Ashway Gap House Offered as Hospital

The Ashton, Stalybridge and Dukinfield Joint Waterworks Committee at a meeting at Ashway Gap House during the inspection of the Greenfield reservoir works were unanimously decided to offer Ashway Gap House to the Red Cross Society to be used as a hospital for wounded soldiers.

The Joint Committee have granted to all employees called to arms half wages during their absence in connection with the war.

The Joint Committee have unanimously decided to contribute a portion of their weekly wages to the local fund in connection with the Prince of Wales Fund.
