'THE GREAT WAR - HOW IT TOUCHED LIVES IN OLDHAM' (PART 2)

Dr. Catherine Payne died on February 4th, 1918, age 41, in the Nursing Home, Union Street West.. Her death certificate gives the cause of death as '(1) carcinoma of the breast and (2) metastatic growths.' She is buried in Chadderton Cemetery.

Her epitaph reads, 'They rest from their labours and their works do follow them.'
